Builders cleans..again and thanks!

Today went off at lunchtime to carry out a small clean which was part of a much bigger builders clean. It was due for completion tomorrow (thursday) so we had organised quite a few personell to be available for this clean on the thursday. However one small part was required to be ready for thursday morning so I agreed to call in and carry out this piece of work. Fortunately I had someone with me. We completed the assigned task and packed our equipment away. I went off to report our departure to the site manager who informed me that the client had requested the clean be brought forward by a day! No way could I complete this in time and be ready for the evening cleans. One phone call sorted it and Laura agan stepped into the breach and went off to organise the evening cleans. So a big thank you to her once again as she saved the day by doing this as it allowed me to stay on site and complete the work required. So again my thanks go out to her and to Alex who was with me. His cleaning was superb. You may think that cleaning is dead simple. On builders cleans it is anything but. You have to be quite skilled to accomplish these successfully. Every small ledge, edge and protrubance gathers dust and must be wet wiped. Wafting a feather duster or dry cloth about achieves nothing. Every ledge has to be viewed from above to ensure that it is completely clear of dust, dirt or pieces of rubble. Attempting to do this from ground level is simply a waste of time as it will only have to be done again. Every corner must be got into and behind every pipe. Having cleaners on site who are experienced in this type of cleaning is essential and fortunately I had one with me this afternoon. So I give a big thank you to Alex for his sterling work in this area today which enabled us to depart the site leaving another customer happy.

Thanking the staff

Last evening Sparkle started a new contract clean which came on board on Friday before the bank holiday to start on the Tuesday after the bank holiday. Consequently it was difficult to organise appropriate cleaners to be there given the short notice. So management had to turn out! Fortunately our best and most long serving employee volunteered to come straight from a doctor's appointment and drive 10 miles to meet me there to assist with the clean. Being the first clean together with the fact that the premises had not been cleaned prior to us going there it did require special attention. Consequently I would like to publicly thank this particular person for turning out at such short notice under difficult circumstances and organising and carrying out a superb clean. She was aided and abetted in this by myself but also by another of our employees who also turned out at short notice and assisted in this excellent clean. So a big thank you to each of them. (Just to let you know if you come accross them cleaning for you at any time their names are Laura and Alex).

Builders clean

Went someway to completing a builders clean. However as with most of these jobs it was a loosing battle against the many other competing elements ... plumbers, electricians etc. all of whom have little and sometimes not so little tasks to complete in areas you are trying to clean! However I think by and large we won the day. Two more days should see it completed and another happy customer at the end of it. Meanwhile we have been called back to another builders clean to carry out a full carpet clean. During the initial clean they only wanted odd patches cleaned. Now the customer has decided it would be better if the whole carpet was cleaned. Fortunately we are able to meet the customers request and get it done very quickly i.e. the day after the request came in.

Cleaning Services

Cleaning Companies Do Themselves No Favours.
Cleaning is one of the most competitive markets there is in the service industry. Customers are entirely price driven. Quality of service is not generally considered by potential customers. Cleaning is not a product you can look at prior to purchasing and make judgements about its quality. Cleaning everybody and anyone can do therefore you would expect the same quality regardless of how much you pay. Consequently customers will go for the lowest of the quotes which for them is entirely sensible and the correct thing to do. The customer is not at fault. The fault falls upon the cleaning firm willing to carry out cleans at unrealistic prices. Prices that are set so low that they can secure a contract. This price may be set because no labour is being employed; in these cases the firm can never hope to grow and be highly profitable. Or the job may be quoted for on the basis of employing very cheap labour with the smallest of profit margins being built into the quote and then having secured the contract under staffing it so as to boost the profit margins.
At Sparkle Cleaning Services we believe in providing a realistic quote, not one which will secure a contract at any price. This quote will take into account the fact that we reward our workforce well and we do not understaff. This results in the workforce being happy and carrying out their jobs diligently. We do not engage in price cutting simply to gain contracts. We provide quotes at fair prices; prices which will ensure the customer obtains a quality clean.

Cleaners at the bottom of the pile

In many organisations, offices and retail premises the cleaners are considered a valuable asset to the company. However in many more they are looked upon as something of a necessary evil and to a large extent looked down upon. These are often the companies who complain the most about their cleaning with the vast majority of the complaints being very petty. It would seem that in these organisations a culture has grown up that cleaners are generally 'useless' and always looking for ways of cutting corners and not doing what is thought to be required. As a result individuals are always looking for 'things' the cleaner has not done! This culture is of course not helped by many cleaning firms running substandard cleans.
At Sparkle Cleaning Services we aim to completely satisfy our customers so that cleaning is never raised as an issue and in return we expect our cleaning staff to be treated with respect and hopefully not thought of as just 'the cleaner'.
