A Life Changing Clean
There are many reasons that someone may find themselves in a position where a Deep Clean and Clearance to their home has become a necessity. These range from Mental Health Issues such as Complusive Hoarding and Depression, through to Substance Misuse, Old Age, and Physical Disability, to name just a few. In these situations; the level of Clearing and Cleaning required goes far beyond the scope of a regular Cleaning Service, and such jobs are often turned away by Companies who cannot facilitate such operations. The Cleaning Services Group has built up a strong reputation as leaders in this Specialist area and has done so by providing a highly Professional service with a Sensitive approach to what are often the most sensitive situations, and the most vulnerable people.
It has been over the last six months that we have been particularly busy in this field. This may be for a number of reasons.... That our reputation is at it's strongest.... That we are now widely established as Specialists in the area. Maybe it is that vulnerable members of society are realising that is completely acceptable to seek the help of others and engage professional organisations in this process. We are often contacted by neighbours, friends and relatives, as well as the support and social workers of people who are desperate need of help. And so it would be comforting to also believe that this Recession that Britain is suffering under, has had some positive effects in reinforcing the need to care for others and strengthening the sense of community within our neighbourhoods.
It is usually the case that a House Clearance and Deep Clean is a part of a wider Care Package; either provided through Social Services or by family or friends who have discovered that a loved one is in need of such help. Such Cleaning Services can have a huge impact on a person's life in rebuilding self-esteem, reuniting friends and family (who can often be shut out of a loved one's homelife), and bringing back a personal and practical sense of purpose. It can even be the first step in a person going back into Employment and Independent Living. Our cleaners that are a part of such a process, frequently come away with such a great sense of satisfaction in knowing that they have helped to build the foundations in rebuilding a person's life. We have all seen it in television programmes such as 'How Clean is Your House' and 'The Life of Grime', but it is most true that these clearances and cleans really do change lives.
Our Cleaners within these Specialist Teams really do work exceptionally hard, in often very challenging, disturbing and upsetting situations. We suceed where others often fail because we only send in cleaners who are experienced with such cleans and mentally equipped to cope in these situtations. What usually reassures embarrassed and nervous customers is that our cleaners have 'seen it all before' and 9 out of 10 times; 'see a lot worse'. Our cleaners are supervised at all times, and praise and rewards, where due, are an important part of making sure that our cleaners perform at their best. Our customers privacy is respected at all times, and are cleaners are always highly sensitive to their emotional needs. Every situation is different and the process of clearing and cleaning is always tailored to the individual and their own needs.
It is so important to find a Company that can cater for your needs, and one that you know you are in safe hands with. Our pre-clean visit serves as not only an opportunity to assess the logistics and costings of the clean, but also as an opportunity for the customer to meet us face-to-face and for us to answer any questions that they may have. Unfortunately not all Companies offer such a service.
Not so long ago, our London Team were called into a house of a young male who had suffered a Nervous Breakdown, and subsequently had struggled to keep his flat together . A close friend had called in another Cleaning Company (who I shall not name), and mangaged to convince him to let them in to clean the place up for him. Now as you can imagine he was very nervous about letting anyone see the state of the place and it took a lot of reasurrance from his friend for him to actually agree to the clean. One young foreign female was sent in (for whom the English language was a problem), who to the young man's shame, proceeded to sneer and make viscious comments about the state of the property. She called in her boyfriend, who arrived and the two proceeded to kiss on the customer's sofa, and when confronted the male turned nasty and started to kick the walls and door of flat. This sounds like the stuff of nightmares but sadly it is a true story. The friend of the young man called us for help as even though she was so disturbed by the incident, she had no option but to go through with a Professional Cleaning Service as this was not something she could undertake herself. A few days after our clean had been completed she called up to thank us for our hard work, and for the difference we had already made to her friend's self esteem. We were more than happy to help this young lady and her friend; but absolutely disgusted to hear of the treatment her friend had suffered at the hands of a so-called Professional Cleaning Firm. If you have had an experience that you would like to share we would be very happy to hear from you - email laura@wesparkle.co.uk.
